I am in love with smoothies and I’ve been drinking this one green smoothie for a couple months now. Before you say yuck, green smoothies are nasty, try making a green smoothie with bananas. Bananas are a great natural sweetener and a great source of potassium and fibre. The bananas instantly balances out/ even over powers (depends on your bananas to greens ratio) the taste of your veggies. This is my simple take on a green smoothie.
2 cups of spinach, fresh
1 cup of milk
1/2 cup of crushed ice
Blend all the ingredients together until smooth. It’s as simple as that. There are always other ingredients you can add/substitute. Sometimes I add kale to my greens and also even avocado for a creamier texture. You can also substitute your milk for almond milk or even soy. Another option is to freeze your bananas in advance. This will substitute your crushed ice and will make your green smoothie cold.
Green smoothies are a great cold drink to start your mornings off with and they taste so good too. An even better thing is that it’s all healthy so you won’t feel bad about drinking so much of it either. I highly encourage you to try making one!
